Phnom Penh— On the evening of October 31, 2025, at the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Marcos dos Reis da Costa, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to the Kingdom of Cambodia, His Excellency Cheang Vutha, Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Digital Government Committee (DGC), attended the Cocktail held at Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh to celebrate the historic accession of Timor-Leste as the 11th Member State of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

It is worth noting that in January 2025, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on "Cooperation in the Fields of Post, Telecommunications, Information and Communications Technology, and Digital Transformation.” As part of this cooperation, Cambodia is supporting Timor-Leste in the implementation of its national document verification platform, verify.gov.tl, which aims to enhance trust and digital governance in public service delivery.
